After the birth of their child, parents visit the physician in specified intervals and every time the doctor not only weights and measures the growth of the newborn, but also evaluates the progress of the child at various milestones in his early life. Thus the physician can easily recognize the signs of normal child development, provides tips on how you as parents can help increase brain power of your child.

All parents do visit the doctors, but not all of them know how they can help increase brain power of their infant on their own.

It turns out that quite simple actions taken by parents from the very first days of the baby’s life can create magic with his brain, making it develop fully. And the main tool to  increase brain power of your child is – music.

Ears are the gateway to the world. I sometimes wonder if all our internal organs respond to sound, and not just the ears. Therefore, the "food" we feed our ears is very important.

To get success in developing your child’s brain power, you need classical music of different types – cheerful, quiet, sad, and so on. If you, dear parents, are not really big fans of classical music, then to increase brain power of your child you can put on any music that you love. But the condition is that the nature of the music should be same as mentioned above; only the genre will be different.

And yes, there’s a strict ban on "heavy" and loud music, which brings great harm not only to the human brain, but also to the whole body.

Many parents ask why the music they should play to their children should be diverse. You may not believe me, but it is music – specifically the quality of sound audible to your toddler starting from the first days of his life – that influences his character and the manifestation of his emotions!

The next question that worries parents is whether you should play specific kinds of music during specific activities. How is the child’s perception to the music? Is it possible to link pleasant music with useful activities?

Our answer is - yes. Let me explain this for infants. If your child does not eat well, play happy and "moving" music while breastfeeding. Remember: this should be one and the same melody every time you breastfeed. Exactly! To get used to it, your baby will take a few days (maximum a week). Familiar and fun music helps your child eat more actively, and therefore it would be better to load up.

You can also play fun and active music when your child is all alone with toys. It does not matter that the baby is still very small and cannot clap to the music. Lively music will make him move more actively. It will increase brain power and also positively affect his speech and overall development later in life.

The energetic music will also benefit in cases when you notice your child’s mood to be limp and bored.

Relaxing music is best used at bedtime or when you want your child to be less active. Under its "soothing" influence, the child will become calmer and get better sleep. At this time, you should not use the same melody every time. Let the musical memory of a child fill with new auditory experiences.

Even five minutes of hearing classical music before bedtime and five minutes after he goes to sleep (a total of ten minutes) will be sufficient for your child to increase brain power and develop an ear for music. If you really want this, all you need to do is– stick with the "musical education" on a regular basis, increasing the listening time to 20-30 minutes per session.

With regard to repertoire for listening to music, you should pick it up yourself based on the positive reaction of your child to a particular product.

What do you think, dear parents, are these actions complex? Of course not. When your child grows up, you'll be pleasantly surprised to “discover” that he or she has a musical gift, even if nobody in the family has!
